NL Dutch Cultural Pop UP Projects in London

NL- Dutch Cultural Pop-Up Projects started out as a fixed-term 2-year experimental cultural diplomacy initiative. From 2009 until 2011, NL - The Dutch Cultural Pop-Up Space was an exhibition and project space in central London that presented the full spectrum of Dutch creative culture - from art and design to fashion and architecture - to a British audience. The original manifestation evolved in cooperation with the Sovereign Art Foundation and was located in the heart of London only minutes away from Oxford Circus tube station.

On the basis of the success of this initial project, the concept has since evolved into one for using a ‘pop-up’ model to promote these disciplines of Dutch culture in the UK. Commencing in 2012, NL- Dutch Cultural Pop-Up Projects will deliver a range of Dutch cultural projects initiated and/or implemented by he Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UK in a range of locations. This website will continue to profile these projects. Managed by an external independent curator and working in partnership with UK organisations, NL is supported by the cultural department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UK.
